Quick Poczta Polska Tracking Guide (30 Seconds)
How to Track a Poczta Polska Package in 3 Steps:
- Find your tracking number — Check your shipping receipt, confirmation email, or the notice card left at your door. Numbers are typically 13 characters e.g. RA123456789PL, EE987654321PL, or CP555666777PL.
- Paste the number above — letters plus PL means a postal product; digits only means the Pocztex courier side.
- View real-time updates — See current location, estimated delivery date, and full history from acceptance through delivery.
Tip: If tracking shows "Electronic information submitted," wait 24–48 hours — the sender may have printed the label but not yet dropped off the package at a Poczta Polska office.

Understanding Poczta Polska Delivery Guarantees
Pocztex Kurier48 Guarantee: Pocztex Kurier48 is Poczta Polska's premium domestic service with a delivery guarantee. Packages sent Pocztex Kurier48 are guaranteed for next-business-day delivery to most addresses in Poland. If Pocztex Kurier48 doesn't meet this commitment, Poczta Polska offers compensation options (conditions apply). Delivery to major business districts is guaranteed by end of day.
Pocztex24 Guarantee: Pocztex24 guarantees delivery within 1-3 business days to most European destinations. Shipments to major German cities typically arrive in 1 business day. Deliveries to other European countries may take 2-3 business days. Like Pocztex Kurier48, this service offers a delivery guarantee with compensation options if delivery commitments aren't met.
Non-Guaranteed Services: Paczka24 Odbiór w Punkcie, List Polecony Ekonom, and Paczka48 Odbiór w Punkcie do not include delivery guarantees but provide reliable service with typical delivery times. These services are perfect for non-urgent shipments where cost savings are more important than guaranteed delivery dates.
Complete Guide to Poczta Polska Tracking
Understanding Poczta Polska Tracking Numbers
Poczta Polska uses the Universal Postal Union S10 pattern for registered and international items: two letters, nine digits, then PL. The opening letter is the useful part, because it names the product class before any scan lands.
| Prefix | Product | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| PrefixR_ 9 digits PL | ProductPrzesyłka polecona | What it tells youRegistered letter post, signature on delivery |
| PrefixC_ 9 digits PL | ProductPaczka pocztowa | What it tells youPostal parcel, domestic or international |
| PrefixE_ 9 digits PL | ProductEMS or GLOBAL Expres | What it tells youThe express products, fullest scan trail |
| PrefixV_ 9 digits PL | ProductDeclared-value item | What it tells youCompensation tied to the declared amount |
| PrefixDigits only | ProductPocztex courier, Paczka24 or Paczka48 | What it tells youCourier products with their own numbering, no PL suffix |
Two systems, not one. Postal products carry the S10 letters. The Pocztex courier arm and the Paczka24 or Paczka48 products use their own numeric formats. If your number has no letters, you are on the courier side, and the Pocztex helpline handles it rather than the general postal one.
Parcel Lockers in Poland: Getting the Names Right
This trips up almost every English-language guide, and it matters because the words belong to different companies.
Paczkomat is InPost's trademark, not Poczta Polska's. InPost registered the name in 2009 and holds the protection right, which means competitors cannot call their machines Paczkomaty. Poczta Polska filed in 2015 to invalidate that trademark and lost, then tried to register pocztomat for its own machines and was blocked again on the grounds that the name was too close to InPost's. The two companies are commercial rivals, so a Poczta Polska parcel never arrives in a Paczkomat.
What Poczta Polska does offer is Odbiór w Punkcie, pickup at a point: its own parcel machines, its post office counters, and partner points. The branch network is the real strength here, at over 7,600 outlets nationwide, which is more collection points than any locker operator in Poland.
Why this matters for tracking. Polish sellers and marketplaces offer InPost and Poczta Polska side by side at checkout. If your tracking number is a Poczta Polska one, no amount of checking the InPost app or a Paczkomat code will find it, and vice versa. Confirm which carrier the seller used before hunting for a locker.
Poland-Specific Delivery Realities
Awizo is the notice card, and its clock is not the only clock. When a carrier cannot deliver a registered item, the awizo names the branch holding it. That statutory window is 14 calendar days counted from the day after the card lands, weekends and holidays included, with a second reminder around day seven. Pocztex e-commerce deliveries work to entirely different and much shorter deadlines, which is where most people get caught out.
| Where it is waiting | How long you have | Counted from |
|---|---|---|
| Where it is waitingBranch, registered item with awizo | How long you have14 calendar days | Counted fromDay after the card was left |
| Where it is waitingPost office, Pocztex PUNKT delivery | How long you have7 days | Counted fromFirst SMS or email |
| Where it is waitingPUDO partner shop (Żabka, ABC, Lewiatan and others) | How long you have3 days | Counted fromFirst SMS or email |
| Where it is waitingPocztex AUTOMAT parcel machine | How long you have72 hours | Counted fromFirst SMS or email |
None of the Pocztex windows can be extended, and Poczta Polska says so plainly. You get three messages in total: the pickup code, then two reminders. The 48-hour locker figure quoted everywhere is InPost's, not Poczta Polska's, and applying it to a Pocztex AUTOMAT parcel costs you a day you actually had.
Polish public holidays are numerous and clustered. Corpus Christi and Assumption fall midweek and shut the network, and the stretch from Christmas Eve into early January is the slowest of the year. A scan gap in early May, around 1 and 3 May, is almost always the holiday rather than a problem.
Rural Poland really does scan less. The network runs processing hubs at Warsaw, Kraków, Łódź, Wrocław and other major cities, and a parcel to a village address may post nothing between the last hub and the delivery scan. That silence is structural, not a fault.
Poczta Polska Status Wording, Decoded
Nadana / Electronic information submitted: the sender registered the item and Poczta Polska has nothing physical. Marketplace sellers batch these, so days can pass before a real scan.
Przyjęta w placówce nadawczej: accepted at the sending branch. Custody has transferred.
W trakcie transportu: moving between facilities. Several of these in sequence is normal on a long domestic route.
Przekazana do doręczenia: handed to the delivery branch, normally the day before or the morning of delivery.
Awizowana: a delivery attempt failed and an awizo was left. The 14-day clock starts here.
Doręczona: delivered, with a time and a description. For signature products it names who signed.
Zwrot do nadawcy: heading back, usually after the 14 days expired or an address failed. Once this appears, ask the seller to reship.
Przekazana do urzędu celnego: with customs on an inbound international item. Charges may be payable before release.
Diagnosing a Stalled Polish Parcel
Only a registration entry? The seller has not lodged it. Allow a working day before treating that as a fault.
Match the gap to the product. Pocztex and Priorytetowy scan often. Paczka48 and ekonomiczna items move slower by design, and a two-day gap on those carries no meaning.
Ring the right helpline. The two arms have separate numbers. General postal enquiries go to 801 333 444 from a landline or +48 43 842 06 00 from a mobile. Pocztex courier items go to 804 104 104 or +48 43 842 0 842, and that line answers on Saturdays, which the general one does not.
Lodge it in writing. The eReklamacje portal at ereklamacje.poczta-polska.pl creates a case number and a written record. That record is what a compensation claim is later built on, so open it early rather than relying on a phone call.
Recipients start with the seller. Compensation goes to whoever paid the postage, so the sender holds the relationship even where a recipient can raise the enquiry.
Reklamacje: Deadlines Most Guides Get Wrong
The advice you see everywhere, wait 15 days and file within 90, is imported from US carriers. Polish postal law works on entirely different numbers, and they are far more generous.
| Situation | The rule | Counted from |
|---|---|---|
| SituationDomestic item deemed lost | The ruleNot delivered within 30 days | Counted fromDate of posting |
| SituationFiling window, domestic | The rule12 months | Counted fromDate of posting |
| SituationFiling window, international | The rule6 months | Counted fromDate of posting |
| SituationHidden damage found after opening | The rule7 days to declare it | Counted fromDate of delivery |
| SituationResponse deadline, consumer | The rule14 days | Counted fromDate claim received |
| SituationResponse deadline, business | The rule30 days | Counted fromDate claim received |
Silence works in your favour. Polish law treats a claim as decided in the claimant's favour if the operator misses its response deadline. Note the date you lodged and count forward. Few English-language guides mention this provision at all, and it is the strongest card a Polish claimant holds.
Compensation is calculated, not capped at a flat figure. For a lost Pocztex item the standard entitlement is up to ten times the postage paid, unless you declared a value or bought additional cover, in which case the declared amount applies. Postal products follow their own schedules under the postal law and the UPU rules for international items. Quoted zloty ceilings on English-language guides are usually invented; check the regulamin for the product you actually used.
Open the parcel without delay. The seven-day hidden-damage window runs from delivery, not from when you get round to unpacking. Keep the original packaging, because inadequate packing is the most common documented reason a Polish claim is refused.
File at ereklamacje.poczta-polska.pl or at any branch, and keep the case number. International claims take longer because Poczta Polska has to query the destination operator, and the resolution window stretches to about three months.
Cross-carrier habits that decide any claim, from packing standards to proof of value, live in our shipping protection and claims guide. What is above is specific to Poland.
