🔍 Important: How to Find Your Zara Tracking Number

  • Check your shipping confirmation email - This is sent after your Zara order ships and contains the carrier tracking number (not your Zara order number)
  • Look for these carrier formats: DHL (GM/LX prefix), UPS (1Z prefix), FedEx (6-12 digits), Correos (ES prefix), Royal Mail (AB/CD/EA prefix + GB suffix)
  • The Zara order number identifies your purchase, not the parcel. The carrier reference arrives separately at dispatch
  • If you can't find the tracking number: Log into your Zara account at zara.com > "My account" > "Order history" to view order details and tracking information
  • Confirmation and dispatch are separate events. No reference exists until the parcel physically leaves

Note: Zara does not operate its own delivery service. All Zara packages are shipped through third-party carriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx, local postal services). Tracking works through these carriers' systems.

About Zara Order Tracking Service

Zara is one of the world's largest fashion retailers, known for its fast-fashion model and global presence with over 2,000 stores worldwide. Unlike many brands that operate their own logistics, Zara partners with leading international carriers like DHL, UPS, FedEx, and national postal services to deliver orders to customers' doorsteps.

Zara runs no delivery fleet, so every parcel is handed to a partner carrier and tracked in that carrier's system. Which partner you get turns on your country and the delivery option you picked, which is why references from the same account can look nothing alike. We identify the carrier from the reference in your shipping confirmation emails.

Paste the carrier reference above and we work out which company holds the parcel, then pull their scans. Keep an eye on the dispatch date while you are there: on an online Zara order the 30-day return clock starts then, not when the parcel lands. Once a parcel moves you'll see each scan location, transit progress through the carrier network, customs clearance status, and final delivery confirmation.

Quick Zara Tracking Guide (30 Seconds)

How to Track a Zara Order in 3 Steps:

  1. Find your tracking number — Check your shipping confirmation email with subject "Your Zara order has been shipped". This contains the carrier tracking number — not your Zara order number. Common formats: DHL (GM123456789), UPS (1Z999...), FedEx (9-15 digits). Your Zara order number (starts with #) will NOT work.
  2. Enter it above — Paste or type the carrier tracking number in the search box at the top of this page. No spaces needed.
  3. View real-time updates — See current location, transit status, estimated delivery date, and full scan history across DHL, UPS, FedEx, Correos, Royal Mail, and all other Zara carriers in one view.

💡 Tip: Wait 24–48 hours after your order confirmation email before tracking — the shipping confirmation with your carrier number arrives separately after Zara hands the parcel to the carrier.

Zara Order Process & Timeline

Two dates matter on a Zara order and people conflate them: the dispatch date, which starts your return window, and the delivery date, which does not. Here is what happens at each stage:

1

Order Processing

Zara processes orders within 1-3 business days. During peak seasons (sales, holidays), processing may take longer. You'll receive order confirmation immediately after purchase.

2

Order Shipped

Once processed, Zara ships your order from the nearest fulfillment center. You'll receive a shipping confirmation email with carrier tracking number within 24 hours of shipment.

3

In Transit

The parcel moves through the carrier's network, and business days exclude weekends and public holidays. Cross-border orders out of Spain post fewer scans in transit than domestic ones, so gaps here are routine rather than a sign of trouble.

4

Out for Delivery

The carrier attempts delivery to your address. If unavailable, they may leave a notice for pickup or redelivery. Zara packages typically don't require signature unless high-value items are included.

5

Delivered

Your order is successfully delivered. Zara automatically updates order status in your account. Keep packaging until you are sure: the return window runs 30 days from dispatch, not delivery.

6

Returns Process

Unwanted items can be returned within 30 days of dispatch. Log into your Zara account to request a return, print shipping label, and drop off at carrier locations. Returns typically process within 14 days of receipt.

Zara Delivery Options

Standard Delivery: Free on orders over €35 (varies by country), typically 3-6 business days. Most economical option for non-urgent orders. Delivered by local postal services or Zara's carrier partners depending on location.

Express Delivery: Premium service for 1-2 business day delivery. Additional cost applies. Perfect for urgent orders or last-minute gifts. Uses premium carriers like DHL Express, UPS Next Day Air, or FedEx Priority.

Click & Collect: Free service to pick up orders at your nearest Zara store. Orders typically ready within 3-5 business days. You'll receive email notification when ready for collection. Must collect within 14 days or order is automatically returned.

Sustainability Initiative: Zara is transitioning to carbon-neutral shipping on all online orders by 2025. Standard deliveries often use more eco-friendly transport methods compared to express options. Consider choosing standard delivery to reduce your carbon footprint.

International Shipping & Tracking

Zara ships to over 200 countries worldwide with varying delivery times, costs, and customs procedures. International shipping uses different carriers depending on destination region, with tracking available through our service for all Zara shipments regardless of carrier used.

Customs Clearance for International Zara Orders

Customs Documentation: All international Zara shipments include automated customs documentation. The commercial invoice is attached to your package and includes:

  • Complete item descriptions (not "clothing" but "women's cotton dress")
  • Individual item values in local currency
  • Harmonized System (HS) codes for each product category
  • Weight, quantity, and country of origin for each item
  • Zara's importer of record information for your country

Customs Clearance Process: When your Zara package arrives in your country, it must clear customs before final delivery. This process typically takes 1-3 business days but can take longer during peak seasons or if additional documentation is required. You'll see tracking updates like "Item presented to customs" or "Customs clearance in progress" during this time.

Duties and Taxes: Customs duties and import taxes vary by country and order value. De minimis has narrowed sharply: the US $800 allowance and the EU's €150 threshold have both gone, leaving the UK's £135 as the main survivor. Zara's checkout process displays estimated duties, but final amounts are determined by customs authorities. Most carriers collect duties upon delivery or bill you separately.

Customs Delays and Issues: If customs holds your package, you'll typically receive notification from the carrier or customs authority. Common reasons include missing documentation, incorrect declared values, or prohibited items. Zara's customer service can assist with documentation issues but cannot expedite customs clearance.

Zara Tracking Troubleshooting Guide

Order Number Versus Carrier Reference

Zara issues an order number that identifies the purchase inside your account. No carrier recognises it, so it will not resolve in any tracking tool. The carrier reference arrives with the shipping confirmation and under My Account once the parcel leaves the warehouse.

Zara operates no delivery fleet of its own. Which carrier you get depends on your country and on the delivery option chosen, so the reference format varies between orders even from the same account. Enter it above and the carrier is worked out for you, which saves guessing from the number's shape.

Why a Zara Parcel Goes Quiet

Nothing for the first day or two. A reference is generated at dispatch, and there is often a gap before the carrier's first physical scan. Give it a working day.

A long silence mid-route on an international order. Zara ships a great deal from Spain, and cross-border parcels post fewer scans in transit than domestic ones. Sparse is normal here.

Sitting at customs. No scans are produced during an assessment, so a flat line here reflects the queue rather than a lost parcel.

Shown as delivered, doorstep empty. Look at where the carrier logged it before concluding it was stolen. Store collection orders complicate this further: the delivery scan often fires when the parcel reaches the shop, not when you collect it.

Import Charges on Cross-Border Zara Orders

Two thresholds moved in the past year and most guides have not caught up.

United States: nothing enters duty-free on value alone any more. The $800 allowance has been withdrawn, an entry is filed on every parcel, the informal kind for ordinary retail goods rather than the full commercial process, and a modest order can attract a charge.

European Union: since 1 July 2026 there is no duty-free floor. A flat €3 sits on each item category in the parcel, billed to the seller rather than demanded at your door, under an arrangement due to run to July 2028.

United Kingdom: the £135 threshold still applies. VAT is due below all of these regardless of duty.

Zara shows any import charges it collects during checkout, so you see them before paying. For how the underlying figure is worked out, see our guide to US import duties.

Zara Returns & Customer Service

The Return Clock Starts at Dispatch, Not Delivery

This is the single most expensive misunderstanding about Zara, and it works the opposite way round from most retailers.

Your 30 days run from the shipment date on an online order, not from the day the parcel arrives. A delivery that takes a week has already consumed a quarter of the window before you have opened the box. In-store purchases are different again: there the 30 days count from the purchase date on the receipt.

The practical consequence: decide fast. If you order something to try alongside another size, start the return as soon as you know, rather than treating the month as beginning when the parcel landed.

Returns Are Not Free Unless You Go to a Store

How you return itCostWorth knowing

How you return itCarrier drop-off pointCostA fee per return request, deducted from the refundWorth knowingCharged per request, not per item, so consolidate
How you return itFaulty or wrong itemCostFreeWorth knowingContact Zara before starting the return so the fee is waived

The fee attaches to the request, not the garment. Sending three items back under one return request costs the fee once; splitting them across three requests or three parcels can attract the charge each time. Decide on everything before you start the first one.

Faulty goods are treated separately. An item that arrives damaged, defective or not what you ordered at all is not a change-of-mind return. Contact Zara first so the fee is waived, and expect a longer window than 30 days for a genuine fault.

What Happens After You Send It Back

Zara processes a return once the parcel reaches its facilities, and the refund follows to the original payment method. Most of the elapsed time is transit and bank processing rather than Zara sitting on it, which is why a refund can feel slow even when nothing is wrong.

Cash refunds exist only in store. An in-store return of a cash purchase is refunded there and then in cash. Everything else goes back to the card or method you paid with.

Exchanges are a store-only option. Online there is no exchange mechanism: you return and reorder. If you need a different size quickly, buying the replacement now and returning the original is faster than waiting on a refund.

Keep the tags and the packaging until you are sure. Items must come back unworn, unwashed and tagged, and the warehouse inspects before approving.

Reaching Zara, and Which Party Owns the Problem

Your account is the fastest route. Order history, returns and refund status all sit there, and raising an issue against the specific order pulls the history with it. Live chat and email back it up.

Match the question to the right party. A parcel in transit, a failed delivery attempt or a disputed delivery belongs to the carrier. A missing item, a refund, a fault or a return belongs to Zara. Taking each to the wrong one is why these cases drag.

The packing and evidence habits that decide a claim whichever carrier is involved sit in our shipping protection and claims guide.

People Also Ask About Zara Tracking

Why can't I use my Zara order number to track?
Zara does not operate its own delivery service. When you buy from Zara, the parcel is handed to a third-party carrier such as DHL, UPS, FedEx, or a local postal service. The carrier assigns its own tracking number — that's the number you need. Your Zara order number (starting with #) is only for Zara's internal account system and has no connection to the carrier's tracking database.
How long after ordering does Zara send a tracking number?
You first receive an order confirmation immediately after purchase — this contains your Zara order number only, not a tracking number. The carrier tracking number arrives in a separate shipping confirmation email, typically sent 1–3 business days later once Zara hands the parcel to the carrier. During peak sale periods, this can take up to 5 business days. If you haven't received it within 5 days, check your spam folder or contact Zara customer service.
My Zara tracking says "Information received" but hasn't moved. Why?
This status means the carrier has received the electronic shipping instruction from Zara but has not yet physically scanned your parcel. Zara may have printed the label before the parcel is actually collected. Wait 24–48 hours — if no physical scan appears after 48 hours, contact Zara customer service as the parcel may not have been handed to the carrier yet.
Which carrier does Zara use in my country?
Zara uses different carriers by country and order type. In the US: primarily UPS and FedEx. In the UK: DHL and Royal Mail. In Spain and most of Europe: Correos and DHL. In Asia-Pacific: DHL and FedEx. In the Middle East: DHL and Aramex. The carrier name and tracking number format appear in your shipping confirmation email. Our tracking tool automatically identifies the carrier from the tracking number format.
What should I do if my Zara parcel shows delivered but I didn't receive it?
First check all accessible delivery spots: mailbox, front door, building reception, with neighbours, and any secure drop locations nearby. If genuinely missing, contact the carrier within 24 hours using your tracking number — they can pull GPS delivery confirmation and driver notes. If the carrier cannot resolve it, contact Zara customer service within 7 days. Zara will replace or refund items only after the carrier confirms the parcel is lost, which typically takes 7–10 business days of investigation.

Frequently Asked Questions About Zara Tracking

To track your Zara order, you need the carrier tracking number from your shipping confirmation email (not your Zara order number). Enter this tracking number in the box above. Zara uses carriers like DHL, UPS, FedEx, and local postal services, so tracking works through their systems. Your Zara order number (starting with #) cannot be used for tracking packages.
Your Zara tracking number is in the shipping confirmation email sent after your order ships. Look for an email with subject "Your Zara order has been shipped" containing a tracking link. The tracking number varies by carrier: DHL (GM123456789), UPS (1Z9999999999999999), FedEx (987654321), Royal Mail (AB123456789GB), or Correos (ES123456789ES). If you can't find the email, log into your Zara account to view order details.
The order number lives inside Zara's own systems and no carrier has seen it. Zara operates no delivery network: it hands parcels to partner carriers who track them in their own systems, and which partner depends on your country and delivery option. You need that carrier's reference from your shipping confirmation email to track your package's location and status in real-time.
Processing runs a day or three before the parcel leaves, longer through sale periods, and the carrier reference appears at dispatch rather than at purchase. That dispatch date is worth noting because your return window counts from it. Standard delivery takes 3-6 business days depending on location, while express delivery takes 1-2 business days.
Yes, this is normal for many Zara shipments. International packages often spend 1-3 days in customs clearance, showing "In transit" status. Domestic packages may have longer transit times during peak seasons or due to weather. Zara's carriers typically deliver within the promised timeframe even if tracking shows "In transit" for several days. Contact the carrier directly if no updates for more than 5 business days.
If delivery is attempted and fails, the carrier holds Zara packages for 5-15 business days depending on the carrier: DHL holds 7 days, UPS holds 5 days, FedEx holds 10 days, and postal services hold 15 days. After this period, packages are returned to Zara. Check your carrier's website using your tracking number for specific hold times and pickup locations at local facilities or authorized pickup points.
Click & Collect orders (store pickup) don't use carrier tracking but can be monitored through your Zara account. You'll receive email notifications when your order is ready for pickup (typically 3-5 business days after purchase). Log into your Zara account to check order status and store pickup details. If your order isn't ready after 7 business days, contact the specific Zara store directly or Zara customer service.
Customs has the parcel and is assessing it. The reason the page stops moving is that assessments produce no scan events at all, so a static status is expected rather than alarming. Note that both the US and EU duty-free thresholds have gone, so a charge is likelier than it was even on a modest order. Clearance typically takes 1-3 business days but can take longer during busy periods. No tracking updates occur during customs clearance, but your package hasn't been delayed - this is a normal part of international shipping.
To return a Zara order: 1) Log into your Zara account, 2) Go to "Order history", 3) Select the order and click "Request a return", 4) Follow prompts to select items and reason, 5) Print the return shipping label provided, 6) Package items securely with tags attached, 7) Drop off at the carrier specified on the return label. Returns must be started within 30 days of the shipment date on an online order, not from delivery. Most returns are free within the same country of purchase.
Zara typically processes returns within 5-7 business days of receiving the package at their returns center. After processing, quality inspection takes 2-3 business days. Once approved, refunds are processed within 1-2 business days, with payment providers taking an additional 3-5 business days to complete the transaction. Total time from return drop-off to refund receipt is typically up to around two weeks. You'll receive email notifications at each stage of the process.
Zara's carrier partners (DHL, UPS, FedEx, postal services) determine delivery days. Most carriers deliver Monday-Friday, but some offer Saturday delivery for an additional fee (typically €5-10). Sunday delivery is rare and usually only available through premium carriers in select metropolitan areas. Zara's Click & Collect service allows weekend pickup at participating stores during regular business hours. Check with your specific carrier using your tracking number for weekend delivery options in your area.
Nothing. Every dispatched Zara order carries a carrier reference at no charge, and both that carrier's site and this one are free to use. The advantage of pasting it here is that you skip working out which partner carrier has it. Our tool also adds benefits like multiple carrier support, notification alerts, and package history at no cost. Some carriers may offer premium tracking features (delivery time windows, change delivery address) for small additional fees.
